Introducing... Horus

 



Representing the African continent in Justice Allies is Horus.  Horus' powers are related to the sky.  He can fly with or without his armored wings.  He can control the weather, bringing winds and lightning, thunder and hail.  

Behind the Scenes: Horus is the "Hawkman" of the Justice Allies.  Alex Ross did something similar in Kingdom Come, drawing on the Golden Age Hawkman's Egyptian roots.  However, his Hawkman is a man with a hawk head, hawk wings, and hawk feet.  Horus is a man-god in a falcon costume.

I Met... Michael Cho! The transcription work I have been doing for  Comic Book Creator  magazine may be the closest I ever get to working in the comic book biz.  Even though I have been a comic book reader for decades now, I still have learned a ton as I listen to the interview audio and get the words on the printed page.  One of the recent interviews conducted by Jon B. Superman 2020 | Superman 354 | The Debut of Superman 2020

Superman 354,  cover dated December 1980, offered readers a glimpse 40 years into the future with the back-up feature "Superman 2020."  Superman 2020 introduces us to "Superman III," the grandson of the familiar Kal-El/Clark Kent Superman.  The story of Superman III would continue as a back-up in subsequent issues of the Superman comic.  In this blog, we'll take a look at the Superman that might have been... Superman 354:  "The Debut of Superman III!"   Superman I and his half Earthling/half Kryptonian son Jorel Kent arrive in New Metropolis, a domed city floating at the edge of Earth's atmosphere for the unveiling and public debut of "Superman III."  Meanwhile, teenager Kalel Kent is in Megapolis, a 21st-century city merged from the former Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Metropolis, Gotham, and Baltimore [see NOTE].  He resigns from his position as "Theta Man" with The Foundation, in order to devote himself to full-time

I Met THE FLASH... and THE FLASH... and THE FLASH'S DAD!

I Met the Flash... and the Flash... and the Flash... and the Flash's Dad! Galaxy Con was recently held at the Columbus Convention Center.  After the wonderful time I had at Fan Boy Expo and the great time we had as a family at Cartoon Crossroads Columbus, I wanted to give this one a try.  I took the boys with me; the girls enjoyed CXC, but were okay with not going to this one.    The most difficult thing was deciding which celebrity I wanted to meet.  There was a Smallville Reunion, the entire cast of Clerks, a handful of actors and writers from the various incarnations of Star Trek, and even a Disney Princess...  In the end, I chose John Wesley Shipp, star of the 1990-1991 television show The Flash.  As seen in the photo, John played scientist Barry Allen as well as the titular super-hero.  The line to meet him was very short, with just one person ahead of us.  When it came time to meet him, Mr. Shipp introduced himself as John.  He was very warm and friendly.  I had him sign my c
