Presidents & Politics | The First Teen President

In January 2021, the President who is inaugurated will be the oldest ever to take office.  Donald J. Trump will be 74.  Joseph Biden, Jr., will be 78.

The youngest to assume the office, at least in DC Comics Multiverse, was President Rickard, the First Teen President.  When he was born, his mother remarked, "Someday this baby will be president" and she  gave him the name "Prez."  As a teenager, Prez made front page news in the town of Steadfast when he got all the clocks in town synced to the same time.  He was approached by the villainous Boss Smiley and encouraged to run for the Senate.  He did.  And won.  And other young people also ran and won, gaining a majority in Congress.  The Constitution was amended which lowered the minimum age for the presidency from 35 to 18.  Senator Prez Rickard "running on the New Flower Party Ticket--upset both the Republican and Democratic candidates to win the presidency after a truth-and-love campaign which polarized the generations."

Prez appointed Eagle Free, a Native American as FBI Chief.  His Vice-president was a woman named Martha.  During his first term, Prez survived an assassination attempt.

Prez #1 was cover dated September 1973.  Three additional issues were published, and a fifth was completed, but never published as a single issue.  It is, however, available in the Prez collected edition.
