I Met.... BATMAN!

I Met... BATMAN!

The year was (probably) 1989.  Bat-mania swept the nation as the June release of Tim Burton's
Batman film approached.  The 1960s Batman television show was once again airing on TV.  And Adam West was appearing at a car show in Columbus, Ohio.

The radio station (WNCI?) constantly promoted the event.  There was a spot featuring the voice of Adam West as he was driving the Batmobile to Columbus.  (I just passed the Arch... Not an arch enemy, the Arch...)

Also constantly on the radio was "Adam West," a parody of the song Wild West.  If you don't remember it, it can be found on You Tube here.

I think I must have begged my parents to take me, and they did.  I received an autographed photo (right) which was personalized with my name.  The signature was pre-printed.  But he also signed my Batman television series book... But I was a shy kid.  I did not ask him if he was wearing his special super thermal B underwear under his Batsuit...
